Kinneret

Brooklyn, NY’s Kinneret released her electric new single “Solar Kiss” alongside a Joelle Taylor-directed video. With all the buoyancy of an ‘80s pop hit and the wisdom of a breakthrough therapy session, the standout track—co-written and produced by Jorge Elbrecht (Sky Ferreira, Japanese Breakfast)—encourages listeners to think big when envisioning their bliss. “‘Solar Kiss’ was originally called ‘Migration.’ It’s about making big changes and following your passion,” Kinneret explains. “I wrote it while I was moving to Brooklyn [from Los Angeles], and I imagined myself as a brave bird, leading my flock across the country.” “Solar Kiss” is an alluring glimpse into the magical, organic, and quirky world of Kinneret, which listeners were first introduced to on her 2019 viral hit single “No Wind Resistance!” (the track has since amassed over 200 million global streams across DSPs).

Listen to a Kinneret song and you’re just as likely to encounter a pop hook drenched in glitter as you are a philosophical inquiry that you’ll be pondering for days. “Can you ever reach the end of a timeless existence?” she asked casually on “No Wind Resistance!” Everyone who was entranced by the song’s off-kilter beat and slippery synths probably had no idea it was made by a girl in high school in between classes in Los Angeles. The success of that single was, in short, life changing for Kinneret. Deciding to delay her attendance at Berklee College of Music, she continued to release new music and began to channel more energy into her live performances–most recently touring in support of Princess Chelsea. Somewhere along the way, she grew into a self-assured artist, maintaining her sparkle and eccentricity while refining and reimagining her left-of-center sound.

Stay tuned for more Kinneret news coming soon.
